Analyzing Subclasses of Probabilistic Hybrid Automata

چکیده

Hybrid automata ooer a framework for the description of systems with both discrete and continuous components, such as digital technology embedded in an analogue environment. Traditional uses of hybrid automata express choice of transitions purely in terms of nondeterminism, abstracting potentially signiicant information concerning the relative likelihood of certain behaviours. To model such probabilistic information, we present a variant of hybrid automata augmented with discrete probability distributions. We concentrate on classes of the model which have restricted continuous dynamics in order to obtain, via appropriate notions of simulation and bisimulation, decidable model checking algorithms for properties expressed in a probabilistic temporal logic.

Trace-Based Semantics for Probabilistic Timed I/O Automata

We propose the Probabilistic Timed I/O Automaton (PTIOA) framework for modelling and analyzing discretely communicating probabilistic hybrid systems. State transition of a PTIOA can be nondeterministic or probabilistic. Probabilistic choices can be based on continuous distributions. Continuous evolution of a PTIOA is purely nondeterministic. PTIOAs can communicate through shared actions. By sup...

SAT-Modulo-Theory based Analysis of Probabilistic Hybrid Systems

The framework of hybrid discrete-continuous systems becomes increasingly popular for modeling and verifying large real-world, often safety-critical, embedded systems, e.g. in the car and aviation industry. In contrast to purely discrete models, like Kripke structures, hybrid systems additionally show continuous behavior usually modeled by differential equations. Therefore, the state space of a ...

Game Characterization of Probabilistic Bisimilarity, and Applications to Pushdown Automata

We study the bisimilarity problem for probabilistic pushdown automata (pPDA) and subclasses thereof. Our definition of pPDA allows both probabilistic and non-deterministic branching, generalising the classical notion of pushdown automata (without ε-transitions). We first show a general characterization of probabilistic bisimilarity in terms of two-player games, which naturally reduces checking ...

Stochastic Satisfiability Modulo Theory: A Novel Technique for the Analysis of Probabilistic Hybrid Systems

The analysis of hybrid systems exhibiting probabilistic behaviour is notoriously difficult. To enable mechanised analysis of such systems, we extend the reasoning power of arithmetic satisfiability-modulo-theory solving (SMT) by a comprehensive treatment of randomized (a.k.a. stochastic) quantification over discrete variables within the mixed Boolean-arithmetic constraint system. This provides ...
